Across a bridge, along a shore... ...in motion and rhythm, Canadian singer-songwriter Morgan Finlay continues to write his path with a careful brush. The songs are waiting to be sung; miles of unrest, search, and questioning collide and ring through to listeners... humans, each shifting through their own changes.
Now, having returned to Vancouver on the heels of five successful European tours that saw him play nearly four hundred shows in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK and others, and before this on the Canadian college circuit in Ontario and Quebec, Finlay incubates and warms for a fifth release while an international fanbase marks time. Still the sounds and statements of 2007's Shifting Through The Breakers resonate through hearts and venues from the shores of Wales to Berlin, the streets of Amsterdam to Varazdin, carving a space for the arrival of the next release.
From the beginnings on the Canadian campus circuit, with the rock production of 'Uppercut' (2002), through the intimacy of 'Splice' (2004) and his first official full-length release, 'Everything Will Work Out Right' (2005), Morgan Finlay has travelled both a physical and a creative journey along the winding roads of indie music. Fans have grown to respect the songwriter that he has become, and understand his thought process, laid bare stage after stage; the punchiness of 'zensong' and 'Mescaline'; the social statements of 'Take The Edge Off' and 'Sound Of Industry'; the desperate loneliness of 'Night At The Mercury' and 'Seattle'; but most prominently, the sentimentality and misty hopefulness of 'in-Security', 'Far Beyond Words' and 'Blessing and Burning'.
Years of recordings and exposure have not only earned him the respect of fans, but also garnered him endorsements from Seagull Guitars, D'Addario Strings, and Vancouver's own Dayton Boots.
