october 6, chemnitz //... now from stage left... out comes Finlay!... rolling through the East after a tear across the north and back to Berlin. how is your life? if I haven't seen you out there recently, or quatsched through the email line, then here are best wishes for the fall season, well and truly upon us. right now I am at Torsten's place in my subtle little Chemnitz... I always find a way to dig deep here and still get flashbacks from a great show at Subway, already a month ago. already a month ago?! time is cruising and before we know it, it will be christmas. last night Axel Stiller and I did a radio show over Radio-T, the local community radio station here... love to sit down and feel so comfortable having a conversation over the radio waves... all in German! pretty funny for people out there to listen to, no doubt. but I am proud of it. next up... a night at the Cafe Lebensart, in nearby Greiz... god bless the East. the above is courtesy of Guido in Bonn... this is JUST the way I like it.

d?sseldorf... nothing less than perfect (alta-ar) |
september 18, düsseldorf //... back in Guido's killer town... ok it's definitely a different kind of 'kill' from, say, Berlin but I am all over it. the last few days have been totally rock and roll and as far as this young tour has gone so far, now I can say that I am busting into my stride full on. hmm... well, 'rock and roll'..?..I guess I just mean, sort of scrappy-- the way that it has been over the last couple of tours, when things have really fired... busy, buzzy and exciting. a large part of this has to do with the good ship Brisco changing and setting new course, for the land of the next record and a fresh setting... more on that if you happen to be an Inner Circle member. rolling and reflecting and kicking through some of my favourite stages in Europe. anyways, here above was Guido and I, after we did downtown Düsseldorf, from the seven-euro haircut place, to the music store(s), past the Starbucks that wasn't and the indie cafe that was, the grouchy spitting street musician, onto the Königsallee and back. this was the early afternoon, before we rolled together with brother Olli to the Mausefalle gig in Bonn!!... I was so relaxed and ready to give up my soul to the always lovely crowd in here... and so it was, absolutely *religious* . a wicked night to be in the room together with me and my guitar. god bless Georg (and rest in peace, Peter ) and every soul who came down and bonded. the new songs just keep getting loved from my favourite stages, by golly this next record looks and feels so right. time to get back to writing... see you in Hannoversch-Munden at Mike's Kurbelkasten tomorrow night!

september 3, rust //... just as I was starting to miss the vibe and the 30-or-so gang that came out to Mario's Subway last Monday night... poof! in comes Torsten's email with a batch of classic shots. this one is a diamond... that is my (twin) brother Stiller, who did an opening few songs to warm everyone up. I always feel so at home in Chemnitz... such a down-home vibe that will forever be so comfortable to me. next up in this town is a live-to-air interview and jam, on the occasion of Stiller's birthday, on my beloved Radio-T (community radio that counts), during none other than the two brothers' timeslot! they host a singer-songwriter show that runs twice weekly (www.radiot-chemnitz.de). log on on October 6!
