from the Ono... to the Ratskeller! |
april 24, bern //... what a brilliant night we had last night in the Ono, here in the heart of Bern... a packed room, tons of emotion and some very special dedications... thanks to EVERYONE who came out and supported me! what a great vibe. no less thanks go to Michael Kressbach at Jecklin, Isabelle at the Kulturagenda, and all Kendra, Cornelia, Lexa and Carmen's people... you all rule! more thanks still to Daniel and staff of the Ono for the killer room. I can't wait to get back in front of this crowd and we will look to the autumn season to get it on again. ahem... NOW, today, didn't I speak to a Finlay HERO, the good brother Smiley in Herzogenaurach!! turns out that he has opened his own club and I am proud to announce my first date at the Ratskeller, a sunday afternoon chill on May 18th! the House Of Soul has a new address, my friends... go to www.ratskeller-herzogenaurach.de for info, and to scope some making-of shots (nice site too bro). anyways, ANY excuse to get back among all the friends in Herzo is a good one, but I must say that coming out to jam in Smiley's room tops them all. be with us! | |

april 22, bern //... rarely does a childhood friend come out into the world, saying that we will hook up... and actually does it. there are some classic examples (that's you, One)... these times are so perfect and special and unforgettable. lo and behold, a touchdown with brother Marc Maurer... I had warned the girls to expect a dashing young man from the Val to charm them all, and could only half predict that I would be consumed with non-stop laughter and memories for three whole days. the only unfortunate part is that his Right Honourable E.R. Steven (uhh...well) cannot stick around to witness what will be a powerful night of music tomorrow night at the intimate Ono Club, in downtown Bern (look here... www.onobern.ch)... don't miss it my friends! | |

one wicked saturday night in dresden |
april 7, hennef //... last weekend... or rather... man was that already two weekends ago??.. time is flying... I blasted through Dresden for the fourth time, crossing the stage of Mirko's venerable Blue Note in the Neustadt. I think that this was the best one yet... ok, I have said that before but... what a feeling in this room. thanks as always to the good brother Mirko for bringing me back, but also as always to the good vibe and friendly service brought to us by Petr and Johannes. this night was special for other reasons too... 1- this was the very first show for the BEAUTIFUL new Seagull!.. Jake rushed it to us on the way up from Bamberg,and it met first action singing from the stage on this night. I cannot describe the warm, balanced ring from this Cameo... you would have to hear it yourself (find out more... go to www.seagullguitars.com or in Europe, call PB Music at (+31) 475 35 07 46 for a dealer near you)... 2- the Chemnitz Radio-T family (among others) came all the way to be there and represent (see right)... and 3- your man Finlay broke the old record, set in Aflenz at the beginning of this 20-month tour... and played for 3.75 hours!!.. people were totally listening and we all just moved through the night together. what an unbelievable feeling... this truly is the very purest type of show for me... where everybody is in it together... feeling, thinking, listening. | |
