 december 31, bern //... honk if you're looking forward!!.. damn, there's a great new day coming. down here in Bern, the snow has started to fall and will provide the most magical backdrop to our burning backyard fire tonight. (above is Ryan's angle, as we sat in the grass above Li?ge and waited for the sun to burn down) now that we are through the holidays, it's time to really sit back and look at all these great stages, musical moments, new friendships, sights... everything that this tour number five has brought us. I feel so blessed and am totally looking forward!.. thank you to every single person across the countries who were there for these songs and took home my music... we have almost sold out YET another run of 'Shifting Through The Breakers' and the internet keeps taking things higher and higher. ps. where on earth would we be without this medium that is the net?? through this website (you are here), StudiVz (look for the Morgan Finlay group), Sway's fan-tastic new site (www.alongtheroad.de), LastFM (www.lastfm.de/music/Morgan+Finlay), myspace, brand new ones like iLike (www.ilike.com/artist/Morgan+Finlay) and several others, the word flies out there, even when we sleep. but there's no time to sleep now though kids!.. it is time to celebrate life. thinking about you from this milestone (check in to the Inner Circle for more)... | | |

 december 14, düsseldorf //... now that the 'big day' is drawing nearer... are you almost ready for it? out here on the road the days are mushing together... even though I can see clearer than ever. and some of these moments are more powerful than ever- the night in Göttingen with Beate (www.genovevamusic.com)... the show in Bern, the night in Erlangen... at Smiley's in Herzo... all will make my top shows list. speaking of 'Tops' lists... (and there are a few to make) let me show you what might be the top live shot of me, done by Gitta Schnier, of Lüdinghausen, some weeks ago (more of her stuff can be previewed at http://home.fotocommunity.de/iwant2c). among the many, many pictures that have been taken over the last few years, this certainly ranks high. thank you Gitta! another thing that ranks very high is... my first ever official fansite!... go here (www.alongtheroad.de) to check it out and check in! only in Deutsch for now. what an honour! thanks Sway. now I get ready for Herne at the NILS and wow... my second to last German show of the tour! time flies when you're having fun... | | |

those nights you never forget |
november 30, herzogenaurach //... just heading through downtown Erlangen, the morning after a great night in Herzogenaurach, at soul brother Smiley and Bea's Ratskeller (I like to call it the 'Rats'... THANKS to all the folks who came out and witnessed the 'rebirth'... it's comin on! so great to hang with everybody. now before I get on the train across Bavaria, destination Regensburg's Christmas market (nice one!!), let's pop this killer picture of Janique's up online here-- (more to come) this night in Köln (or Cologne, to some) was something absolutely perfect and I will look forward patiently to the next chance to play Micha's back room... you can't believe the vibe in here, the songs came out PER-fectly, the room was full and sweaty and the night carried on and on and was a gas. a billion thanks to Chris and Janique-- Chris set the show up, Janique took the pictures and the both hosted me at their lovely place near the center of this amazing town... a long and soulful night. | | |
